Silvina Counselling

Counselling for women who feel lost in

relationships and want to find themselves again

If you’ve spent years keeping the peace, putting your needs aside, or staying quiet to avoid conflict, you may now feel

overwhelmed, unsure of yourself, and emotionally exhausted.

I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where you can begin to feel heard, rebuild your self-worth, and find your voice again.

You may be feeling

You may be feeling emotionally drained after a long-term relationship.

You might feel unsure how to trust your own thoughts or decisions.

You may feel stuck between wanting change and feeling afraid to act.

You might be used to putting others first and struggling to prioritise yourself.

You may feel worried about being judged or not believed if you open up.

Why this feels so difficult

Many of the women I work with have been in relationships where they didn’t feel fully heard, supported, or valued.

Over time, they learned to stay quiet, avoid conflict, and put their needs last in order to cope.

These patterns often make sense, especially if you have experienced emotional hurt, control, or abuse.

But they can also leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, and unsure how to move forward.

How counselling can help

Counselling offers you a space where you don’t have to hold everything in. Over time, you may begin to feel safe enough

to talk openly without fear of judgment.

You may start to understand how your past

experiences have shaped you. You may begin to reconnect with your needs, your voice, and your sense of self.

Many clients find they start to set boundaries, feel more confident, and make choices that feel healthier and more

aligned.

Frequently asked questions

Is counselling right for me?

It can feel daunting to decide to start counselling. But you are not alone - taking the first step is often the hardest decision. We go at your pace in a safe and warm non-judgemental space so you can feel at ease about expressing yourself openly.

How important is the relationship between a counsellor and a client?

The relationship between us is one of the most important aspects of therapy and the key to therapeutic success. I will make sure that we build up trust enabling a strong foundation for us to work together.

Are our sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is fundamental to building our relationship and to our work together. There are a couple of exceptions to the rule where information within our sessions might need to be shared. But we will always discuss any disclosure to others with you beforehand and we will try to jointly agree on a way forward.

How many sessions do I need and how often?

Weekly sessions are the most effective. We usually keep the same time and day each week, which guarantees my availability to you. We can agree on a set number of sessions upfront or you can undergo open-ended counselling where we regularly review your progress and your desire to continue our work together.

What does person-centred counselling entail?

As a person-centred therapist, I am to create a comfortable, non-judgemental environment by showing genuineness, positive regard and empathic understanding. At the same time, I allow you to choose the direction of therapy for yourself. The role of the person-centred counsellor is to facilitate this decision by asking questions to help clarify what you think and how you feel to help you find your own solutions to your problems.

What issues/problems can be helped by person-centred counselling?

Person-centred counselling is used to help with various issues which include relationship problems, depression, anxiety, bereavement, addictions, trauma, abuse, anger and transitions in life.

How many sessions of person-centred counselling will I need?

The number of sessions you require will be discussed at your initial session. When using a person-centred approach, the number of sessions can vary as it depends on your needs.

How effective is psychodynamic psychotherapy?

Psychodynamic therapy can help you to relieve your symptoms and make lasting changes to your life through self-discovery, to live more freely on your terms.

How does psychodynamic psychotherapy work?

In a safe, non-judgmental environment, you will explore your feelings and emotions, including those that trouble you. You may be encouraged to say whatever comes to mind so that you can access thoughts that might otherwise remain outside of your awareness. Psychodynamic therapy can help you to develop new internal resources to deal with these difficulties and find more flexible ways of coping. You can gain new insights into your perception and more freedom to make choices that better serve you.
